Evie has been having trouble nursing and we noticed a white spot on the flap of skin under her tongue (frenulum). We thought it may be thrush and Jessie took her to the doctor this morning. It turns out that the frenulum was just too long and it had become irritated from nursing. They went ahead and clipped it there in the office and made an appointment for Ben to have his done on the 26th. I had the same thing done to my tongue, but not until I was older. Georgia had to have it done around the time she was born too.
It doesn't seem to hurt too much right now. There is already a noticeable difference in how she is moving her tongue around when she cries, and she is already having an easier time eating.
She weighed 8 lbs 6 oz at the visit.
