6/3 Morning update

I will start out with what the babies need to do to get home.  They have sleep apnea which means they sometimes stop breathing when they are asleep.  If they stop breathing for a while and their heart rate and oxygen levels drop, they count it as an apnea episode.  First they need to go 5 days without an episode.  Then they will do a 10 hour final exam/sleep study and if they pass (not sure exactly what is involved in the test or how they pass) they will be allowed to go home.

When we got in I snooped in their charts right away to see if they'd had any episodes overnight.  They hadn't had one for 24 hours before we left so we were hoping everything would be fine but Evie had 3 episodes marked on her chart and Ben didn't have a specific one listed but he had a comment that his oxygen was low for a while so that will probably count as an episode.  So the 5 day timer is restarted.  We could end up taking them home on June 8th which was our original scheduled delivery.

Both babies gained weight this weigh-in.  Ben gained .3 oz or so, but he had been putting on weight the past few nights.  Evie's weight finally increased this time by over 2 ounces.

Evie has been keeping her oxygen level up near 100% most of the time on her room air cannula except for the few apnea episodes.  Ben hasn't had any real apnea episodes but he has been working at keeping his oxygen level up on 23% oxygen.

Evelyn is doing a good job of keeping her first outfit clean.  Ben is on his third, unless he dirtied more overnight.
