A nurse practitioner came by today and surprised us by telling us that since Ben's last apnea episode was 6/1, not 6/3 as noted in his chart, he will be eligible for his sleep study tomorrow night and release the next morning. The entry on his chart for 6/3 was just a log of his oxygen saturation levels. The sleep study starts at 8:00 PM when the shift changes so we will be going home after our 5:00 visit. The sleep study is not actually any different than a regular night in the NICU. They will be hooked up to the same monitors but at the end of it they will print out the readings and review them. They will also sit in a car seat for an hour.
When Ben comes home, Evelyn will still be in the NICU for two more days, so our plan is for me to go in for the first two shifts and for Jessie to go in for the second two. We are going to take the 8:00 shift off both days, the first to get settled in with a baby at home and the second because Evie will be doing her sleep study. We are happy that Ben is coming home of course, but we'd like to have them home at the same time. I think what we are doing is the best option available to us.
Evie ate too much today and projectile vomited over her new outfit and onto my shirt. She stayed totally clean.

More great pictures. So happy to hear the news that Ben gets to come home earlier than anticipated. Princess Evie has proven she is a big girl and will make her grand entrance at her royal palace some enough. Maybe sweet Ben will get a little rest before Evie arrives. Love you guys.

I'm disappointed that they wont be able to come home together, but am glad you'll get to have one of them with you. Maybe that'll encourage Evie. :)
